“Welcome
stranger” is inspired by the raw, simplistic illustrations in my favourite
childhood storybook; The Paper-Flower
Tree, by Jacqueline Ayer. Texture is the key and the look is fresh. Inspired
by New Zealand designer Zambesi, the fabrics
lead the design process. The silhouette is androgynous, relaxed and layered. Paper
like, recyclable, Tyvek is the focus. Recycled materials also play an important
role. The pieces are versatile and timeless.
